A Day of Art
Sunday morning we got up early and took the Metro (Washington, D.C. subway) to Union Station which is the DC train depot. Great stores, including one for the Mint! We then set off to the Museum of Modern Art. I proceeded to fall flat on my face on an uneven sidewalk and proceeded with my dignity partially intact. At the art museums spent the day in awe of Monet, Degas, Van Gogh, and the Impressionist masters. But we also spent time with the modern genius of Pollack and Calder.
Alexander Calder is a particular favorite of mine because of his wonderful sculptures and mobiles. There is incredible science and math involved in these works of art and I am constantly fascinated by each piece.
